This is a short series documenting my father working during the Winter of 2002. He worked as a Catering Truck Driver driving around the south side of Chicago before a sudden disability of losing his vision in one eye. I assisted my father as a teenager after an incident of theft while he worked left me upset and I decided to be by his side while he worked. I suppose I felt I could protect him somehow, but I gained a whole new experience of my father as a friend.
These images are from one day of stops, though I do not remember the names of the people, I can hear their voices when I look at the images.
There were stops at factories in Pilsen, drug rehab facilities, post offices in Hyde Park, food pick-up in ChinaTown, car dealerships, and construction work sites.
